Dr. Easton-Carr

 

Dr. Shannon Easton-Carr attended medical school at the University of Iowa and completed her adult psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA. She is board certified in both adult and geriatric psychiatry and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA). She also holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley.

 

During her residency training, Dr. Easton-Carr’s emphasis was on women’s mental health. She has experience evaluating and treating both pregnant and post-partum women with mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders. She is also available for pre-pregnancy consultation to discuss how to modify a woman’s medication regimen to minimize the risks to both mother and baby.

 

Dr. Easton-Carr’s other specialty interest lies in geriatric psychiatry, in which she completed a fellowship at UCLA and is board certified. She is experienced in diagnosing and treating various dementias as well as behavioral disturbances associated with cognitive decline. She also has experience treating late life mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders in geriatric patients with medical co-morbidities, working closely with the primary care physician to determine the optimal treatment plan.

 

While Dr. Easton-Carr specialty training and interests lie in reproductive and women’s mental health and geriatric psychiatry, she is available to see adult patients for evaluation and management of general mental health issues as well.
